The first subway car with side doors goes into service in New York City. New York did have the nation's first elevated line, or the "El". The first underground transit was in London and opened in 1903. The second was the Glasgow, Scotland in 1891. Remember Budapest and Paris. How about Boston and Philadelphia. I have been on Philadelphia's Subway and EL.
What do they call the EL in Seattle? Monorail?
I have ridden on that.
