Happy Birthday Alaska

The Great State of Alaska became part of the United States on October 18, 1867. The great land was transferred from Russia to the United States, and the American flag was raised in Sitka at the Governor's house. Gold was discovered in 1897, by Joe Juneau and Richard Harris.
