Peaceful transfer of power.


On this day in 1797, John Adams is sworn in as the President of the United States, succeeding George Washington. This was the first ever peaceful transfer of power between elected leaders in modern times. Bearwiskers says ....God Bless America!

    Not all have been peaceful?
    Oh - you are saying back then (1797) as modern times. Their modern times.
